POLICE BARRICADE ENTRANCE TO LIBERATION STADIUM IN RIVERS STATE.

The Rivers State Police command this morning barricaded the entrance to the Liberation Stadium Elekahia where the newly recruited 13,000 teachers were to collect their posting letters.
Leader of the new teachers, Ogbueri Lawrence told correspondent Joshua Ezedike that the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Education has directed the new teachers to leave the area and advised that they check their postings on the internet.

But in a swift reaction; spokesman for the Rivers state Police Command, Ahmed Mohammed said the stadium was barricaded because of intelligence reports that people, who gathered at the stadium were protesters masquerading as teachers. The police PRO added that the Rivers State Government did not write formally to inform the police of activity at the stadium.
