The
Nigeria Police is introducing a bio-metric central vehicle registration across
the country, with effect from next week Monday, the sixteenth of this month.

Announcing
this at a press briefing in Abuja today, Force Deputy Public Relations
Officer, Frank Mba explained that the new digital vehicle registration will
assist the police combat acts of terrorism and other sundry crimes.
This
is to move the police from analogue to digital processes of capturing the
unique data of vehicle owners for proper identification and security purposes.
Mr
Mba was however quick to state that the new bio-metric central vehicle
registration will not duplicate the current exercise by the Federal Road Safety
Corps, FRSC.
