Reports
just reaching us say three people died lastnight when a three storey building
collapsed on Lagos Island.
Eyewitnesses
say ten other residents of the building located on 15 Alli street were rescued
through combined efforts of the youths and members of the Community Development
Association.
Another
building on 13 Alli street suffered partial damage from the incident.
Already
men of the Lagos state Emergency Management Agency and Fire Service are
currently at the scene for further rescue operation.
Lagos
Island is prominent with recurring incident of collapse buildings due to the
use of substandard materials by Shylock Developers.
Many
of the distress buildings marked for demolition in Lagos Island by the state
government, still have people living in them.
