NEW YELLOW CARD CERTIFICATE TAKES EFFECT OCTOBER 1, 2013 IN NIGERIA

Minister of Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has formally launched a new Yellow Fever Certificate, that will take effect on the first of next month.

At the event in Abuja today, Professor Chukwu said the new card which will replace the old yellow fever cards is aimed at eliminating the sufferings of Nigerians when they travel abroad.
He took time out to explain that the recent decision of the South African Government to deny some Nigerian travellers access to the country, was based on the policy of the National Council on decision taken by the National Council on Health to decentralize the process of issuance.
Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu urged Nigerians to endeavour to replace their old Yellow Fever Cards with the new one, to avoid embarrassments, while outside the country. The card comes with special security features, centralized and difficult to forge.
