COURT ASKS PDP TO RECONISE OGUEBEGO AS ANAMBRA PDP BOSS

A Federal High Court in Port Harcourt has granted the factional Chairman of PDP in Anambra state, Ejike Oguebego his application to restrain the Party from recognizing Ken Emeakayi as the party Chairman. Justice H A Ngajinwa ruled that the application is legal and that they have the right to seek for the order. Justice also ordered all the parties in the matter to maintain status quo.
The court also ordered INEC and PDP to recognize and deal with the Oguebego led faction in any further dealings.
Correspondent Onuora Aninwobodo reports that the Counsel to Emeakayi led faction, Mecheta Kalu said the judge went outside the orders sought by the Oguebego led faction, to grant him recognition status.  On his part, Counsel to Mr. Oguebego, Charles Onyebukwa said the order reaffirmed that they are the authentic executive of PDP in Anambra state.
However, INEC’s Assistant Director on legal issues, Sulemon Ibrahim said the commission will obey every court pronouncement.
