POLICE ARREST TO INCONNECTION WITH THE ABDUCTION OF PROF. OKONJO

Delta State Police Command says it has arrested two policemen who were supposed to be on duty at the Palace in Ogwashi-Uku, during the kidnap of Professor Kanene, Mabel Okonjo, mother of Nigeria`s Finance Minister.

Confirming this to journalists on Tuesday, Delta State Police Commissioner, Ikechukwu Aduba, said the command not involved in any negotiation for ransom over the abduction.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade, has directed the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar to deploy a Special Squad from the Force headquarters, to help rescue Professor Okonjo. The Minister`s directive comes as the President of the Senate appealed to the kidnappers to release Professor Okonjo unconditionally.
