KOGI STATE GOVERNOR IN INTENSIVE CARE AFTER AUTO CRASH

The Kogi state Governor, retired Captain Idris Wada is in intensive care at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, following a fatal accident today (Friday).
Governor Wada was reported to be returing from his home town when the accident occurred close to a private University (Salem University, Lokoja) along the Lokoja-Ajaokuta road.
A top government official who would not want to be named, said the Governor`s Aide-de-Camp (ADC) Idris Mohammed died instantly at the scene of the crash. He declined to state how or what caused the accident.
The Kogi State chief executive is the third serving governor to be involved in an accident this year. The first being the Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai, who is still in a critical state after a plane crash close to the Jalingo Airport, Adamawa State. Governor Suntai was flying the airplane. The second governor (Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State) died in a helicopter crash in Bayelsa State on Saturday, December 15.
In the meantime, the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has directed its members across Nigeria to hold a day of prayers for the quick recovery of the Kogi State governor as well as the repose of the soul of the late ADC.
The PDP expressed shock, regretting that the current crash occurred while the party and Nigerians were still recovering from the death of Governor Yakowa.
