Yet
to be identified gunmen yesterday afternoon kidnapped the mother of the
nation`s Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the economy, Ngozi
Okonjo-Iweala.

Professor Kamene Okonjo believed to be in
her late 70s was taken from her family home in Ogbe-Ofu Quarters, Ogwashi-Ukwu,
Delta State.
Her
husband, Professor Chukwuka Okonjo, the traditional ruler of Ogwashi-Ukwu was away in Abuja when the kidnappers
struck.
Speculations are rife that the abduction may have been sponsored by some oil cabals currently being probed by the Nigerian Government.
