NIGERIA`S FINANCE MINISTER SAYS OIL CABAL BEHIND HER MOTHER`S KIDNAP


The Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala says her mother, Professor Kanene Okonjo was kidnapped by those who claimed their fuel subsidy payments were blocked and the non-release of SURE-P funds.
Dr Okonjo-Iweala told journalists in Abuja on Monday that her aged mother, who was neither given water nor food, was told by her abductors that she was kidnapped becuase her daughter (Finance Minister) refused to pay theri subsidy claims.

The Finance Minister maintained that only marketters whose claims have been verified will be paid; adding that that was the Nigerian government`s position.
The eighty-two-year-old retired professor of Sociology at the University of Nigeria, UNN, Nsukka, Professor Kanene Okonjo, was released six days after a ten-man gang seized her from her home in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State on the 8th of this month
