SCHOOL PRINCIPAL ARRECTED IN KOGI, CENTRAL NIGERIA FOR BURNING CHILD WITH ELECTRIC IRON

Kogi State Police command has arrested a 49-year-old school principal, Christopher Ogbeun, for inflicting a high degree of burns on his 10-year-old son, Stephen Ogbeun.
The young boy was allegedly abused by his father for destroying some of his vital office documents which were kept at home.
Announcing this to journalists in Lokoja, Kogi State Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina, said the victim`s father was by a special squad, who caught the suspect red handed as he tied up the boy’s hand and closed his mouth before using the hot pressing iron on him.
Mr. Ogbeun, later told journalists that the act was not intentional as he only meant to frighten his son into confessing to destroying his document, a letter of approval from the West African Examination Council, (WAEC).

The Kogi State Police Command said Mr Ogebeun will be charged for attempted murder, unlawful detention and inflicting injuries on his son, after further investigations.
