NIGERIAN OFFICIALS PROBE SAGAMU JAIL BREAK

Security operatives say they have re-arrested some of the prisonners that escapped from the Sagamu Prison in Ogun State on Wednesday this week.

Twenty inmates were reported to have escaped escaped from the facility during the jail break, while several others were reported to have been shot in the melee, which occurred at about 3.00am, after the prisonners broke a back fence of the jail.
Some of the inmates and prison officials were  seriously injured in the melee.
Authorities of the Nigeria Prison Service are investigating the matter and has vowed to sanction any of its personnel found culpable in the botched jail break.
