ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNOR OFFERS 5 MILLION NAIRA FOR INFORMATION ON THE DUMPING OF OVER FIFTY BODIES IN EZU RIVER, AMANSEA , AWKA



Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi has announced a five million naira reward for information leading to the actual cause of dumping of over fifty bodies in Ezu River in Amansea, in the state capital, Awka. Governor Obi announced this during a visit to the site of the incident. While thanking security personnel for working to unravel the mystery, Governor Obi said such wicked act will not be condoned in the state. 
                                              
He said arrangements are being made to provide alternative sources of drinking water to residents of the community to forestall an outbreak of epidemic.
During an earlier visit to the scene, the state Commissioner of Police, Balla Nasarawa, said residents of Amansea in Awka-North Local Government Area of the State woke up on Saturday morning to behold over 30 dead bodies floating in Ezu River in Amansea. According to him, the bodies may have been dumped in the river on Friday night by yet to be identified persons.
The river is at the boundary between Enugu and Anambra states, and the bodies were found along the Enugu-Onitsha road axis of the river.
