The Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, has confiscated 48 property belonging to former Bayelsa State
Governor, Timipre Sylva.
The action was communicated to
journalists in a statement published on Thursday by the Commission`s spokesman,
Wilson Uwujaren.
The EFCC said the interim
forfeiture order, was granted by Justice A. R. Mohammed on December 28, 2012.
Sylva is currently being prosecuted
at a Federal High Court sitting Abuja for allegedly misappropriating
N6.46billion during his tenure as governor of Bayelsa State
But in swift reaction, the former
governor, Timipre Sylva denied owning the seized assets.
Sylva, who spoke through his Media Adviser,
Doifie Ola, described the EFCC claim on the seized property as misleading
