IBORI BRIBE MONEY: COURT RULES JANUARY 28

A Federal High court sitting in Abuja will on the 28th of this month decide whether or not to grant the EFCC permission to present more facts on why the Delta State Government should be given the $15 million dollars bribe linked to the convicted former governor of the state, James Ibori.

The EFCC insists that if released, the Delta State Government, will transfer it to Chief Ibori to mitigate his current ordeal at a London prison. But Delta state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Charles Ajuyah, refuted EFCC`s position as well as claims that Delta State was paying pension to former Governor Ibori. Mr Ajuyah said the Delta State Government intends to use the money for infrastructural development. The Court had on July 24, 2012, granted an interim order forfeiting the $15 million, which has been with the CBN since August 2007, to the Federal Government
