NIGERIAN LAWYER SUES FAROUK LAWAL OVER $62,000 SUBSIDY PROBE BRIBERY ALLEGATION


Civil rights lawyer, Festus Keyamo has filed a 4-count criminal charge against the former Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on fuel subsidy scam, Farouk Lawal for allegedly collecting the sum of six hundred and twenty thousand US dollars from the Chairman of Zenon oil and gas, Femi Otedola, to alter its report in favour of Otedola.

The suit followed the expiration of the one week ultimatum issued to the Police last week, to prosecute Farouk Lawal. Keyamo also joined as the 2nd accused person Secretary of the fuel subsidy probe Committee, Boniface Emenalo in the suit filed before the Federal High Court Abuja.  
FEMI OTEDOLA
 Mr Keyamo maintained that the proof of evidence and recorded telephone conversation presented against the accused persons over their alleged role in the cash-for-clearance scandal, indicted them. He gave the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke 6-days to either approve the already drafted charge or hands-off the case.
