LAGOS POLICE COMMAND ARESTS IMPORTER OF BOXING DAY INFERNO FIRECRACKERS

The Lagos State Police Command has announced the arrest of the importer of the firecrackers that burnt several buildings on Boxing Day at Ojo Giwa axis of Jankara, in Lagos Island.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide gave the identity of the importer as Semilore Olalekan. She said the suspect was arrested after a long trail by police.

Unofficial reports quoted the importer as saying that he is a licensed to import the fire crackers, which authorities claim has been banned in Nigeria.
