ARMY CONVOY ATTACKED IN OKENE, KOGI STATE



TERRORISM---Two soldiers have been confirmed dead and five others injured on Saturday in an explosion in Okene, Kogi state.
An army spokesman, Major General Bola Koleoso said the dead soldiers were part of the contingent to be deployed to Mali as part of an African force to help restore constitutional order in the country. Major General Koleoso said the Improvised Explosive Device, which was planted on their route went off and hit their convoy.

The Army Spokesman declined to say if the attack was carried out by Boko Haram Islamists, or targeted specifically to dislodge the troops being prepared for the Mali mission.
