The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
has expressed satisfaction at the current effort by the Nigerian governors to
eradicate polio in the country.
Chief Executive Officer of the
Foundation, Jeff Raikes, gave the pass mark after leading a delegation to a
meeting with the Nigeria Governors` Forum in Abuja.
He listed Katsina, Borno, Kaduna, Sokoto
and Kano as states with renewed zeal in tackling the polio-scourge and called
for concerted effort to achieve the 2015 deadline set by President Jonathan.
Mr Raikes told journalists that his
delegation toured some northern states to ascertain the progress so far made.
