NIGERIAN ARMY DENIES ALLEGED EXTRA-JUDICIAL KILLINGS

NIGERIAN ARMY DENIES ALLEGED EXTRA-JUDICIAL KILLINGS

The Nigeria Army has debunked claims of judicial killings alleged against its officers in the joint Task Force in Borno state by the Amnesty International.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday in Abuja, the Chief of Army staff Lt. Gen. Azubike Ihejirika said the report of the amnesty International which indicted the officers was not comprehensive.
He added that the report  ignored the army and drew conclusions from the position of the dreaded Boko-Haram sect.
Ihejirika who was represented by the chief of civil military Affairs, Maj.Gen. Bitrus Kwaji  wondered why the military is being accused of killing innocent citizens, when its primary assignment in the affected states and other parts of the country is to protect life, maintain peace and order.
Also speaking, the director of Army public Relations Brig.Gen. Bolaji Koleosho condemned the report of Amnesty International for not feeling the pulse of the military in maintaining law and order in the war ridden Borno state.
It will be recalled  the Amnesty International on thursday November 1, in its report presented to the media indicted the army of extra judicial killing in Borno state.
