HOUSE OF REPS PROBES NIGERIA`S MINISTER OF AVIATION

HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES TO PROBE AVIATION MINISTER

The House of Representatives resumed plenary today (Tuesday) with a resolution to investigate the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduan over allegations of denial of landing rights to four airlines at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.

The resolution followed a motion by Chairman of the House Committee on Lake Chad, Ali Madaki who noted that the action of the minister was detrimental to the economies of northern Nigeria.
He said Ethiopian Airline, Emirates Airline Turkish Airline and Skyline are reported to have repeatedly applied for landing rights, and signified interest to commence operations at the airport, but were allegedly denied entry by the Aviation Minister.
After deliberations, the matter was then referred to the relevant House committee to report back within four weeks.
