The manufacturer of the deadly infant formular "MY PIKIN" has been reported dead.
Managing Director of Barewa Pharmaceutical Limited, Mr. Kola Gbadegbesin Okunlola reportdedly died last week thereby ending the
protracted legal conflict between the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, and his company.
Barewa Pharmaceutical Limited was fingered for the death of some infants years ago through its drug, MY PIKIN BABY TEETHING MIXTURE.
Mr Okunlola, a pharmacist, was reported to have died last week at Saint Nicholas Hospital, Lagos, where he was being treated for a haemorrhagic stroke.
Before his death, the fifty-eight year old Okunlola, as well as Barewa Pharmaceuticals and two other staff, were facing a six-count charge of manufacturing and distributing adulterated drugs.
Commenting on Okunlola’s death, the Director, Corporate Affairs,NAFDAC,  Mr. Abubakar Jimoh said the Agency has not been formally notified of his death.
