NORTHERN GOVERNORS` FORUM WELCOMES BOKO HARAM DIALOGUE
The Northern States Governors Forum, (NSGF) has welcomed federal government’s acceptance of the offer of dialogue by Islamic fundamentalist group; Boko Haram.
The group had last week, announced that it intends to ceasefire and hold peace talks with the Nigerian government in Saudi Arabia. The sect equally asked for the arrest and prosecution of former Borno State Governor, Ali Moudu Sherif; while nominating some northern indigens to mediate on its behalf.

Reacting to the latest move, the 19 Northern States Governors Forum in a press statement, said  “dialogue rather than use of force, would help find a lasting solution to the worsening insecurity of lives and property in the country.”

The forum equally denounced last Friday’s terrirost attack in Maiduguri, Borno State; resulting in the murder of a civil war veteran and former member of the Supreme Military Council, General Mamman Shuwa. The late General has since been buried according to islamic rites.
The northern governors comiserated with the families of General Shuwa and families of 40 other people that were reportedly shot dead saying, “no grievance can justify such dastardly acts against innocent people.”
