The African Footballer of the Year, otherwise called the Glo CAf Awards, will hold today in Lagos, to crown the 2013 African Player of the Year.
Although bookmakers favour Nigerian and Chelsea Midfielder, John Mikel Obi, he is being challenged by Cote D’Ivoire’s Yaya Toure and Didier Drogba.
Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi and Under-17 (Golden Eaglets) Coach, Manu Garuba are up for the Coach of the Year Award, while Sunday Mba and Kelechi Ihenacho will contend for the most promising young player award.
The prestigious event holds today at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, with renowned African musicians like Lagbaja, P Square and D Banj spicing the evening. We wish who ever emerges winner a more superlative football career.
