DELTA STATE GOVT. GOES HARD ON DEFAULTERS OF URBAN MASS TRANSIT SCHEME.



Delta State Government has set up a special task force charged with recovering huge sums of money owed it by the operators of commercial buses under its Urban Mass Transit Scheme.

Commissioner for Transport, Benson Igbakpa, told journalists that defaulters would have the vehicles recovered from them before month end.
Mr Igbakpa said available record shows that operators, including Government-owned Transport Company, were supposed to pay four thousand naira daily for the buses, but have been defaulting for over one year.
