Nigeria's President, Goodluck Jonathan will tomorrow, (Sunday) host members of the Under-17 football team, the Golden Eaglets.
The playesrs had on Friday, trashed defending champions Mexico 3-0 to lift their fourth FIFA Under-17 World Cup throphy.
The victorious Eaglets, who are billed to arrive Lagos, Nigeria by 8pm on Saturday, will be flown almost immediately to Abuja by Arik Air in their newly acquired state of the art aircraft.
A statement published by Arik Air: “This gesture further demonstrates Arik Air’s commitment to giving back to
society as a responsible corporate citizen of Nigeria” .
Arik Air in February 2013 flew victorious Super Eagles from South Africa to
Abuja.
The airline was also the lead sponsor at the recently concluded IBB Golf
Club 2013 Independent Cup. GREAT EAGLETS!!!
While the Nigeria Football Federation conclude plans to keep the Eaglets together, efforts MUST equally be made to build a new Under-17 Team early enough to defend the title in their next outing.
