A
Nigerian, Dr Olumuyiwa Babatunde Aliu has been elected President of the
International Civil Aviation Organisation.
ICAO,
is the umbrella world body for Aviation safety.
He
was elected today at the 38th Assembly of the organisation in
Montereal, Canada by the assembly, comprising 172 nations.
Dr Aliu is the first black man to head the world
body. Nigeria’s delegation to the forum was lead by Aviation Minister, Stella
Oduah.
