ANAMBRA GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: POLICE RESTRICTS MOVEMENT FROM 6PM FRIDAY-6AM SUNDAY

The Nigeria Police has ordered a restriction of movement within the boundaries of Anambra State from 6.00pm today (Friday), to 6.00am on Sunday, this week.
This is to allow effective policing of this Saturday's governorship election in the state.

A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, said all neighbouring states of Delta, Enugu, Imo, Abia will be heavily policed.  It advised travellers to seek alternate routes to their destinations where necessary within the period of restriction.
People on essential duties are exempted from the restriction, provided that they posses valid identities and passes.
The police high command warned officers to desist from accompanying their principals and politicians to polling booths and collation centres during the election. It reiterates that only police personnel specifically assigned for election duties must be seen within and around the election designated places.
