Nigeria’s
President, Goodluck Jonathan has written to the National Assembly saying that
he will no longer present the 2014 Budget to the Joint Session of the National
Assembly today as scheduled.
Dr
Jonathan was initially to present the Budget to the lawmakers on November 12
but it was deferred to today, November 19.
Presenting
the president’s letter at plenary, President of the Senate, David Mark quoted the
president as urging the two chambers of the National Assembly to harmonise the
Medium Term Expenditure Framework and the Fiscal Strategy Paper before the
presentation.
Both chambers have posted different
figures on the crude oil benchmark.
A new date will be communicated later for the
presentation
