CODE OF CONDUCT TRIBUNAL ASKS FORMER FCT MINISTER TO APPEAR ON NOV. 27

Thirteen years after the Nigerian Government initiated a suit against former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Jeremiah Useni, the Code of Conduct Tribunal has asked the former minister to appear before it on the 27th of this month.
Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Ibrahim Umar, ruled that if General Useni could seek medical aid within and outside Nigeria, he must appear before the court to defend the five count allegation against him.
General Useni’s Counsel, Victor Odjemu informed the tribunal that his client  has been ill for a while.
Useni, was said to have failed to declare his assets and liability before and after leaving office. He is also accused of acquiring properties and issuing 23 rights of occupancy in the FCT, as well as participating in the management of four companies under the Tim Tali Group and three oil companies during his tenure.
