REPS SUMMON CBN GOV, FIN. MIN. OVER DEVALUATION OF THE NAIRA

The House of Representatives has summoned the Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and Central Bank Governor Sanusi Lamido to explain the continued devaluation of the naira.
This followed a motion by Odebunmi Dokun, who noted that the nation’s economy would be in serious trouble if the negative trend is unchecked.

Honourable Dokun while tracing the history of the continued decrease of the naira over major currencies in the world, said the negative trend has continued without any signs of improvement.
The House later referred the matter to its committees on Finance, Banking and Currency and National Planning and Economic development to invite the Minister and CBN governor to explain and submit its report within six weeks
