NIGERIA POLICE ESTABLISHES DEDICATED LINES FOR INFORMATION ON NASARAWA KILLINGS



The Nigeria Police Force has launched a dedicated telephone line to enable the public furnish it with information relating to the current investigation into the killing of some police officers Nasarawa State.
A statement published yesterday by the Force Deputy Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, listed the hot line as 07066228200. The statement equally established a medium for electronic mail. The e-mail address is: policemonitor@npf.gov.ng.
The Force PPRO assured that all information will be treated with utmost confidentiality.
He called for support from the public stressing that an attack on the security forces of any nation was an attack on the entire nation.
In the meantime, Force Welfare Officer, Abiodun Ige, has been directed to immediately relocate from Abuja to Nasarawa State in a bid to assuage the plight of the families of the slain officers.
The directive is to enable Mr Ige effectively coordinate all welfare-related issues relating to the families of the late officers, including the payment of benefits and relevant compensation.
Similarly, the Assistant Inspector General, AIG in charge of Zone 4 (Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau states), Mike Zuokumor, has since relocated to Nasarawa State on the orders of the IGP. According to a statement, the Inspector General of Police called for patience and understanding of families and friends of the slain officers, promising that the bodies of the dead officers will be released for burial after preliminary investigations.
