State Government has declared a day of mourning on Tuesday, May 14, for victims of last week’s
deadly assault on security personnel by a cult group.
GOVERNOR U. TANKO AL-MAKURA |
This
comes as seventeen bodies of the slain police personnel were released to their relatives.
Each family of the slain police officers were equally given a
million naira to assuage their suffering. However, the Inspector General of
Police, Mohammed Abubakar and the Nasarawa State Governor, Tanko al-Makura both
assured that efforts are on to recover the bodies of police personnel still
being held by the cult groups in the state.
