FAYEMI NOMINATES PROF. ADELABU AS NEW EKITI DEPUTY GOV.



Governor Kayode Fayemi has nominated the Chairperson of the State’s Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Modupe Adelabu, for the post of deputy governor. This followed the death of the former deputy governor, Mrs Funmilayo Olayinka, on April the 6th of last month from cancer related aliment. In a letter dated May 3rd, Governor Fayemi requested the State House of Assembly to consider Professor Adelabu.
A Professor of Education at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile –Ife, Modupe Adelabu was Head of the Department of Education Administration and Planning of the institution prior to her appointment as Chairperson of Ekiti State SUBEB in July 2011.
An Ado-Ekiti Princess, Prof Adelabu was born on May 23rd, 1950 in Ado Ekiti to Prince and Mrs. Samuel Adepoju Adejugbe. She had her PhD, in 1990, from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile- Ife. She has received several awards within and outside Nigeria.
