SECOND NIGER BRIDGE PROJECT BEGINS MARCH 10

President Goodluck Jonathan says the ground-breaking ceremony for the second Niger Bridge will be done in Anambra state on the 10th of this month.
He stated this today, while playing host to a delegation of Anambra indigenes led by the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Governor Peter Obi and the governor-elect, Willie Obiano.    They were at the Aso Villa on solidarity visit to the president.
President Jonathan said the project would have been flagged off long ago, but needed
proper planning and funding to start the project.
During a visit to the Obi of Onitsha, President Jonathan promised to launch the construction of the second Niger Bridge before Obi leaves office on March 17.
While thanking Governor Obi for his support, President Jonathan urged elected officials and politicians to focus on developing their states rather than concentrate on attacking and abusing the president.
He promised to retain Governor Obi in the Federal Government’s Economic Management Team even after his tenure as governor.
Earlier, Governor Peter Obi said his administration would not have succeeded without support form the federal authority.
