PRESIDENT JONATHAN FIRES HIS CHIEF OF STAFF, MIKE OGHIADOMHE

President Goodluck Jonathan has fired his Chief of Staff, Chief Mike Ogiadhome.
One of the Special Advisers of Ogiadhome confirmed the development to The Eagle Online.
Ogiadhome was said to have been fired based on security reports that indicted him in several contracts scams in the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation.
Presidential Adviser on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, was not available for response as at press time.
The Eagle Online correspondent in Abuja also could not reach Ogiadhome, a former Deputy Governor of Edo State.
Ogiadhome’s brief on the State House website said he was born 55 years ago in Fugar, in Etsako Central Local Government Area of present-day Edo State. A well-educated gentleman, Chief Oghiadomhe is a 1978 graduate of soil science from Nigeria’s premier university, University of Ibadan.
He also obtained an MBA degree from University of Benin in 1982.  He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management. He was elected Member of Council of NIM in 2006; where he served two terms. He is currently a member of Board of Fellows of the Institute.
Between 1979 and 1982, Chief Oghiadomhe had a brief stint with the Bendel Ministry of Agric as a Research Officer. He joined the private sector in 1982 and has become a major player in the solid mineral industry. In recognition of his role in the industry, he was granted the corporate membership of the Nigeria Mining and Geosciences Society of Nigeria.
In 1998, he went into politics and was elected unopposed into the House of Representatives under the platform of the United Nigeria Congress Party. However, following the truncation of that transition programme, he was nominated as gubernatorial running mate and he ran successfully with the Edo State Governor under the People’s Democratic Party and served two terms meritoriously as Deputy Governor of Edo State. In the course of service, he received several awards for his unalloyed loyalty and meritorious performance.
In appreciation of his immense contributions to Edo State, the entire traditional rulers of the State unanimously granted him a civic reception and conferred upon him the title of OLUETSENIGIE of Edoland thus becoming the first and only Edo man to hold a collective title of the entire traditional institutions in the State.(EAGLE ONLINE)
