President Goodluck Jonathan has
dropped four ministers from the Federal Cabinet.
The Ministers are: Aviation, Stella
Oduah; Police Affairs, Caleb Olubolade; Niger Delta, Godsday Orubebe and
Minister of State for Finance, Yerima Ngama.
Information Minister, Labaran Maku addressed
State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council TOday.
He explained that some of the
Ministers voluntarily resigned to contest the governorship positions in their
home states of Delta, Ekiti, and Yobe.
Asked why four ministers were
singled out, when other cabinet members with political ambitions still retained
their positions, Maku, said: ''I...am not the president....it's not what i can say...I am not the president... but ehh... .i believe sincerely that......ehh...ehh...It depends on what they have communicated to Mr President....so, that is the point..''.
Mr Maku further said that President Jonathan at the meeting, refuted
social media report that his former Chief of Staff, Mike Oghiadomhe resigned as
a result of the missing NNPC fund.
Our Correspondent reports that the Aviation
Ministry will be supervised by Samuel Urtom, while the Minister of State for
the FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide will oversee Police Affairs, just as the Minister
of state for Niger Delta Affairs will be supervised by the Minister of State,
pending the appointment of substantive Ministers
