NIGERIAN MILITARY EXPLAINS APRIL DEADLINE ON ENDING BOKO HARAM

The defence headquarters has clarified statement by the Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh to the effect that insurgency in parts on northern Nigeria must end before April this year.
At a news briefing in Abuja yesterday, the Director, Defence Information Chris Olukolade said contrary to the interpretation in some quarters, the declaration was to charge the new service chiefs to brace up and restore normalcy in all parts of the country.
Major General Olukolade stressed that the nature of terrorism in Nigeria, particularly the Trans boarder dimension make it difficult for the military to make definite promises.
He further called on Nigerians to join hands with security agencies in ensuring that sustainable peace and security is achieved across Nigeria.
