SPECIAL TASK FORCE IN PLATEAU STATE BEEFS UP SECURITY FOR YULETIDE

The Special Task Force, (STF) says its personnel will search visitors at recreation centres in the state during Christmas and New Year festivities.
The STF would carry out the search along with local security agents.
The security measure was announced in a press statement issued in Jos, by the Media Coordinator, Captain Salisu Mustapha.

It stated that the search was to ensure that firearms were not smuggled into the recreation centres. Vehicles will not be allowed into recreation centres during the celebrations.
The STF urged religious bodies to equally adopt security measures during the period.
The Special Task Force also banned all forms of fireworks during the period.
It promised to step up security measures, just as the Federal Road Safety Corps will enforce road traffic rules.
