NIGERIAN DOCTORS BEGIN WARNING STRIKE ON WEDNESDAY

The nation’s health sector is set to witness another strike action as the Nigerian Medical Association, directed its members to commence a nationwide warning strike from Wednesday, this week over alleged non-implementation of an agreement reached with the Federal Government.
President of the Association, Dr Osahon Enabulele announced this after an emergency delegates’ conference in Minna, the Niger State.
The NMA had on Friday warned that a collapse of the health sector was imminent, if the Federal Government failed to abide by their agreement.
The bone of contention include better hospital facilities, work conditions; and the erroneous system in the adopted salary payment structure known as Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS).
