ALL PROGRESSIVES GRAND ALLIANCE, APGA GETS CARETAKER COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN

National Chairman of the Citizens Popular Party, Maxi Okwu, has been appointed Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. Mr Okwu emerged yesterday, at a meeting of the part, presided over by Anambra State Governor Peter Obi.

 Similarly, former factional Secretary of APGA in Umeh`s camp, Sani Shinkafi, has joined the Obi faction of the party. Shinkafi is now the secretary of the Okwu-led caretaker committee of the party. Factional Chairman of the Obi faction, Sadeeq Masalla, has reverted to his former position as the Deputy Chairman (North) of the party. The appointment appears to further deepen the crisis in APGA, as the embattled National Chairman, Sir Victor Umeh, was effectively sidelined by the faction led by Obi.
Members of the of the Massala faction have vowed to oppose what they termed the illegality of the Okwu-led caretaker committee.
