The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, has denied allegations of inducing members of the House of Representatives with ten-million-dollars to guarantee the passage of the Infectious Diseases Control bill 2020.
A letter dated May 14, signed by the Director, Nigeria Country Office of the foundation, Paulin Basinga, said the Foundation had nothing to do with any alleged financial inducement to the lawmakers regarding the said Bill or any other matter.
The letter was addressed to the chairman of the Adhoc Committee, Henry Nwauba which the House set up for the investigation of the allegation and was presented at an investigative hearing into the matter on Monday.
The foundation said the claims are entirely false and without merit.
